Our Story
At Clemence Cabinette, we believe that true elegance goes beyond fabric and thread—it's about the stories stitched into every garment. Our journey began with Hugo Clemence, a man captivated by the timeless beauty of vintage fashion. Hugo’s passion for sartorial elegance took him on a remarkable journey across Europe, in search of forgotten treasures and lost craftsmanship.
In London, Hugo met Daniel, an eccentric collector of rare military coats, who introduced him to the world of British tailoring. Daniel taught Hugo that elegance isn’t just about appearance but about the story behind each piece. From there, Hugo’s journey led him to Berlin, where he crossed paths with Felix, a historian with a deep passion for 1920s cabaret fashion. Together, they uncovered garments that held echoes of Berlin’s glamorous and rebellious past.
Hugo’s next adventure took him to Vienna, where he encountered Gustav, a former courtier with a flair for noble attire. Gustav’s collection was filled with opulent garments once worn by minor royalty, each carrying the history of a forgotten world. Finally, in Rome, Hugo met Sebastian, a master tailor who belonged to the ancient Confraternita dei Sartori—the guild of Italian tailors. Under Sebastian’s guidance, Hugo learned the intricate art of tailoring, from the finest stitches to the masterful cuts of bespoke suits.
When Hugo returned to Paris, he opened Clemence Cabinette, curating a unique collection of garments from his travels. Each piece in our shop carries not just a rich history, but also the craftsmanship and artistry of the eras and places they come from. Whether it's a naval coat from Daniel's London, a sequined cabaret vest from Felix's Berlin, or a royal frock from Gustav’s Vienna, every item tells a story.
At Clemence Cabinette, we’re more than just a vintage store—we’re a gateway to the past, a place where timeless elegance meets the art of storytelling. Welcome to our world, where history, craftsmanship, and style come together, and every garment begins a new chapter.
